Questions abound in rail sale

The recent sale of the I&M rail link to the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad has created a buzz around town.
The good news is that it appears former I&M workers will be getting a boost in pay. Although it may not make a major impact on the city's overall economy, it sure won't hurt. Plus, it's important to those workers.
Is there a downside? Communities have voiced concerns about the volume of
DM&E rail traffic.
Would that happen here? We don't know.
However, the community needs to be involved now and ensure issues such as public safety and noise will be addressed by the DM&E.
If Austin fails to get involved, the result could be unfortunate for this community.
