The 2002 pork and corn feed for Austin Youth Football is underway today at Hy-Vee Food Store in Austin.
Serving continues until 7 p.m. tonight beneath the tent in the Hy-Vee store parking lot off 18th Avenue NW.
AYF players and coaches will assist HyVee store employees. The boys will shuck the sweet corn, while six to 10 store employees under the direction of Chris Mumby, Joe Smilie and Brigitte Gaustad, will also be working.
Last year, 2,000 people attended the pork and corn feed fund-raiser.
The fund-raiser originated in the former Elden's IGA parking lot at Sterling Shopping Center years ago. When the store closed, the fund-raiser moved to the Hy-Vee location.
Money raised at the fundraiser helps support one of the city's largest organized youth sports.
The Saturday morning football games will begin soon at Wescott Athletic Field in Austin.
