Ostrander residents will be saying #039;Uff-Da#039; this weekend

OSTRANDER -- There is enough "Uff-Da" for three days of fun at Ostrander this weekend.

Uff-Da Days begins Friday, picks up steam Saturday and concludes Sunday.

The Security State Bank Junior Golf Tournament at the Root River Golf Course tees off 9 a.m. Friday

A lasagna supper will be held at the Ostrander Community Center 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with bingo afterwards.

Citywide garage sales, a flea market, antique tractor and machinery display and free diabetes screening and blood pressure screening start Saturday's schedule.

A PeeWee fast-pitch Tournament swings into action at city park with a mini-carnival behind Ostrander Community Nursing Home and a senior citizens lunch at the community center.

Then, saddle up for the Little Kids Rodeo at 11 a.m. Saturday followed by water fights and a pedal tractor pull, also for youngsters.

Captain Kirby will be offering children rides on his train throughout the afternoon.

A pie social at the nursing home starts at 4 p.m. Saturday followed by the Windsor pork chop supper 4 p.m. at city park until all the chops are gone.

Then, celebrants will gather along main street to watch the 7 p.m. parade through the community.

When the sun sets, there will be dancing in the streets with music by Iron Horse, 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Uff-Da Days concludes Sunday with an ecumenical worship service at 9:30 a.m., entertainment by Charlie Pickard, more PeeWee tournament action, a classic tractor pull at 11 a.m. and "adult water fights" at 1 p.m.

The LeRoy-Ostrander Community band will entertain in concert beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday in city park.

The celebration also concludes with the annual broomstick horse rodeo, beginning at 9 p.m. on the city tennis courts.
