A 52-year-old Oklahoma man is in jail in connection with the production of methamphetamine after law enforcement officials searched a residence in Brownsdale.
Mower County Sheriff Barry Simonson said the residence was searched Monday after the Brownsdale Police Department received reports that a man at the home had purchased a large amount of sudaphedrine and matches.
At the residence, officials also found hydrogen peroxide, latex gloves and red dye, which are "all the trappings of meth production," Simonson said.
Chief Deputy Terese Amazi said evidence from abandoned property at the home indicated the meth production in Brownsdale had occurred in the past two weeks and it was probable that only one batch of meth had been made.
The man was arrested early this morning at the Riverbend Campground and has yet to be formally charged.
Two children, aged less than 1 month and 18 months were removed from the home and turned over to human services.
