Pacelli High School had another graduation class come and go, Every year the women of St. Augustine's or Queen of Angel's Catholic Church serve a
green lunch to the graduates and their families. The tables are decorated with green shamrocks, green balloons, and green punch is served along with white cake decorated with green frosting.
This past year, the 2002 graduation was held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church. In charge of the festivities were Sharon Wagner and Mary Lu Rysavy, It is always a fun occasion each year to sponsor the graduation reception.
Wagner said, &uot;It means a lot to both parishes each year to have graduation. We had 24 young people graduate from Pacelli this year and it is nice to see these young people head out into the world."
Wagner didn't go to Pacelli but her husband Don was a graduate. She said honoring the graduates and serving lunch acknowledges the struggle families go through to have their children attend a private school.
"We always try and have everything look good for the families. It is important to have theses graduation ceremonies to show that the future of the school goes on with each graduate," said Wagner.
Wagner and Rysavy have a reliable network of women at St. Augustine's who helped them with the graduation.
"It's fun for all of us," said Wagner.
