Kevin L. Vogland, 50
Kevin L. Vogland, 50, formerly of Austin, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at his home in Inver Grove Heights.
He was born June 6, 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Dale and Patricia (Grapes) Vogland.
On August 2, 1972 he married Ramona Billadeau in San Francisco, California.
He was retired from the United States Navy.
He was a freelance writer.
Survivors include his wife Ramona Vogland, Inver Grove Heights; daughters Christina Vogland, Hastings, Kirsten Vogland, Inver Grove Heights; son Jeremy Vogland, Inver Grove Heights; a granddaughter; brothers Kirk (Dorene) Vogland, Bloomington, Jeffrey (Alicia) Vogland, Fresno, Calif; sister Judy (Tim) Cacchione, Miami, Fla.; mother-in-law Mavis Billadeau, Austin; brother-in-law Dennis Billadeau, Austin; sister-in-law Mary Ellen (Douglas) Schnebly, Faribault.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.
Service: 1 p.m., Friday, at Hayward Lutheran Church with Pastor John Malm officiating.
Interment: Woodbury Cemetery, Lyle, with military rites by VFW Post #1216.

Judith K. Wolff, 63
Judith K. Wolff, 63, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Care Center in Osage, Iowa.
She was born June 2, 1939, in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of Fay and Bonnie (Welch) Bryant.
She graduated from Trenton High School in 1957.
On April 27, 1958, she married Larry Wolff in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
She served as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools and the Adams, Rizzi & Sween Law Firm in Austin.
She was appointed to the St. Ansgar City Council in March of 1972, a history-making event because she was the first woman to serve on the Council
She enjoyed bowling, reading, and singing with her sisters.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband Larry; sons Larry, Jr. (Marjorie), St. Ansgar, Kelly (Lora), Albia, Iowa; daughter Ramona (Larry) Shunkwiler, Forest City, Iowa; eight grandchildren; sisters Mary (Jake) Batson, Galt, Mo., Lanah (Orien) Bagley, Waco, Tex.; sister-in-law Linda (Les) Brych, Stacyville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Shelby.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the funeral home
and from 10 a.m., at the church, until the service.
Services: 2:00 PM Friday at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Interment: St. Ansgar Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

William George Shatek, 59
William George Shatek, 59, of Austin, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at his home.
He was born January 27, 1943 in Austin to William G. and Eva (Wilson) Shatek.
A graduate of Austin High School, he lived in Chaska from 1962 until 1982 when he returned to Austin where he lived until his death.
He loved to fish and hunt and spending time with his friends.
Survivors include daughters Debbie and Melody, South Carolina, Michelle, Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Shatek, Austin, David Shatek, Chaska; sister Cindy Shatek, Chaska; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Ann.
Visitation: One hour before the service.
Services: 2 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2002, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Petersen officiating.

Angeline B. Mathieu, 92
Angeline B. Mathieu, 92, formerly of Austin, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, S.D.
She was born on April 2, 1910, in Ellendale to Charles and Tillie (Torgerson) Lerum.
She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1928.
She attended St. Paul Secretarial College, graduating in 1932.
On June 30 1932 she married William Mathieu in Sisseton SD.
They owned and operated two cafes. She also worked as a telephone operator, a dispatcher for a cab and ambulance service, a clerk at JCPenny’s and Cedar Valley Work Shop in Austin as a payroll time keeper.
She lived in Austin until she retired in 1989, moving to Aberdeen, S.D.
She attended First United Methodist Church.
She was an avid Yahtzee player, enjoyed Bingo, cards, traveling and attending Bible study.
Survivors include daughters Joanne Johnson, Irvine, Calif., Janice Losinger, Aberdeen, S.D., Renee (Joel) Dahlen, Mason City, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Orville Lerum and sister Ione Lerum.
Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, at First United Methodist Church, Aberdeen, S.D., with Pastor Dave Bambas and Pastor Joel Dahlen officiating.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, S.D.

Gayle R. Larson, 67
Gayle R. Larson, 67, of Austin, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at the Austin Medical Center
She was born February 25, 1935 in Ft. Atkinson, Wis., to Elmer and Marjorie (Williams) Klagge.
On June 27, 1956 she married Robert W. Larson at the Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa.
She was a homemaker, loved playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Robert Larson, Austin; daughters Debra (Tom) Stevens, Austin, Jill (Dennis) Getchell, Pagland, S.C., Melonee (Marcus) Killman, Austin; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; step-mother Marguerite Klagge, Austin; step-brother Jeff Houston, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.
Service: 9:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Russell Wangen officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.
