Meyer, Rohne team up to beat Shakopee

Scott Meyer needed just 95 pitches to go the distance while getting aid offensively from Nick Rohne in a 5-1 win for the Austin Greyhounds Class B amateur baseball team Tuesday night at Shakopee.

Meyer struck out two, walked two, and relied on his makeshift defense to do the rest. The Greyhounds traveled to Shakopee with only nine players and made due with what they had. Austin’s defense did not committ an error while helping Meyer hold the Indians to only two hits.

&uot;Scott had a good outing,&uot; said Greyhounds player/coach Joe Serratore. &uot;We only had nine guys so we scrambled around pretty good and we picked the ball up, so it worked.&uot;

The ‘Hounds play at Red Wing Friday for a rematch of the consolation finals from last weekend’s tournament.
