In the second game Saturday, Austin got the bats going early against the host Edison Tommies, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings en route to a 10-4 victory. Conor Johnson got the complete game win. Johnson also had three hits and four RBIs.

Josh Dunfee was strong at the plate as he was 2-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Wiechmann also had two RBIs in game two.

Sunday started with Centennial of Circle Pines. Austin was down by a run until the sixth inning. They scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-2 lead to the seventh inning.

Joe Maus drove in the game-tying and winning runs with a line-drive to right-center field.

Kirby came in on the mound and shut down the Centennial hitters for two innings in relief of starter Johnson.

"Conor pitched a great game, he kept us in it through five innings," Coach Tom Wiechmann said.

In the championship game against Eden Prairie Red, the All-Stars were down 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning.

Johnson drove in two runs with a single to give Austin a 4-3 win. Kirby came in to relieve starter Trevor Englund with two innings of scoreless ball to earn his third pitching victory of the tournament.

"This was Trevor's first game for us and he did a nice job.

He kept them off-balance most of the game," Coach Wiechmann said. "Conor's hit was the key of the game.

Both teams played well and had timely hits, we just happened to have the last one."

The team traveled to Apple Valley for a 16-team tournament June 8-9.

In the second game, the Jaycees beat Owatonna 'blue' 10-7 with Derek Emanuel, Nate Justice and Kody Retterath sharing mound duties. Voigt and Jeremy Srock led the hitters.
