The Austin Police Officers Association is planning the fifth annual country music show.
Country music sensation Juice Newton will headline the show scheduled Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning 7 p.m. in Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School.
The show is the association's annual fund raiser and kicks-off each May when residents and businesses throughout Mower County are solicited for financial support.
Money is raised from ticket sales and the sale of advertising in the program distributions throughout Mower County.
In the past year, the association has contributed to such groups as the Grand Meadow Future Leaders of America, Southland post-prom party and a Little League baseball team in Austin to name just a few charities.
Also, the association offers the Joe DePaul law enforcement scholarships
Two students enrolled in the law enforcement program at Riverland Community College are each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
Businesses and residents throughout Mower County can expect a telephone call asking for their support of the annual October fund-raiser
