Mr. Steve Briese of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Ms. Jan Theobald of Minneapolis are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Susan, to Tucker Daniel Gorden, son of Larry and Mary Gorden of Austin.

Ms. Briese, a 1994 graduate of Hastings High School, graduated from Carleton College in 1998 and the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001. She is working as a legislative advocate for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Gorden, a 1994 graduate of Austin High School, graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1998 and the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001. He is now working as a tax attorney for KPMG in Washington, D.C.

Their Oct. 4, 2002 wedding will take place in Maryland.

Joseph Majerus & Janis LaPoint

Donald and Eileen Majerus of Austin and Jerry and Jackie LaPoint of Eau Claire, Wis. announce the engagement of their children, Joseph Majerus and Janis LaPoint.

Joseph is a UNIX Administrator at Carlson Companies in Minnetonka and Janis is a Regional Sales Coordinator at ANC Rental Corporation in Edina.

An Aug. 24, 2002 wedding will take place at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire, Wis.

Gwen Elward & Mike Nelson

Mike and Peggy Elward of Rice Lake, Wis. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Gwen Elward, to Mike Nelson, son of Lowell and Dawn Nelson of Oakland. Gwen and Mike are both from Hayward.

Gwen holds an AS degree from Riverland Community College. Mike is a certified automotive technician at Krjci Ford in Blooming Prairie.

The couple will be married June 22, 2002, at Hayward Lutheran Church, Hayward.
