Dohlman, Jones on to sections

Erin Dohlman and Sammi Jones have plenty in common, including the fact that both will again be representing their schools and their girls' golf teams when they play at the Section 1A meet Tuesday, May 28, at The Oaks in Hayfield.
Dohlman, a two-time state qualifier from LeRoy-Ostrander, and Jones, who advanced for Lyle/Pacelli last year, moved to within one stage of state with top-five finishes at the Section 1A Sub-Section 2A tournament Monday at Cedar River Country Club in Adams.
Dohlman was last year's Section 1A runner-up -- to Rochester Lourdes' Staci Smoot -- and is again on pace to make her way to state after winning the Sub-Section meet Monday. Jones finished fourth overall and third in the final individual rankings after Lanesboro took the team title. Only the top team and top five individuals advance to the next round, and the same qualifications apply for the Section meet.
Blooming Prairie's Calla Swenson also snuck in with the final spot, scoring a 100 to finish tied for seventh overall and outright for fifth individually. The Blossom squad was the top area finisher in the team standings.
