Talking on issue will only help

Residents who live along one of the three Ausin-area waterways are liking breathing sighs of relief this spring, as there hasn't been any noticeable signs of flooding.

Although it's not an issue many are worrying about now, there's nothing wrong with area residents taking steps to help in alleviate potential flooding problems.

Some have suggested improved berms to help control water flow into the creeks and rivers. Others have said that hiring a watershed coordinator would be the right choice to determine how to best deal with this issue.

We're not sure which -- if any -- is the right choice. However, such discussion is a positive step in helping improve our quality of life in the Austin area.
