Edith H. Kruckeberg, 77

Edith H. Kruckeberg, 77, of Blooming Prairie died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Austin Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1924 to John and Marie (Peterka) Fiebiger in Waltham Township.

After graduating from Blooming Prairie High School, she married Kenneth Kruckeberg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Havana Township on Nov. 27, 1942.

She and Kenneth purchased and operated the Village Cafe in Blooming Prairie. She also the cook at the Blooming Prairie Elementary School for 25 years before retiring in 1994.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Lyn Kruckeberg of North Mankato; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Iva Kruckeberg of Marshall; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sherry Kruckeberg of Minneapolis; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Suzanne Kruckeberg of Ellendale; son, Todd Kruckeberg, Eden Prairie; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Adolph Krasnicka, Hayfield; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Elmer Herron of Bloomington; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Elmer Berg of Emmons; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Fredrickson of Hayfield; and sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Norm Turner of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Fred, Frank, Carl and Robert Fiebiger.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2002, at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.

Service: 2 p.m., Tuesday, at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Rev. Richard Hegal officiating.

Interment: First Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Funeral Home: Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, Blooming Prairie.

Vincent J. Stadtherr, 89

Vincent J. Stadtherr, 89, Austin, died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Jan. 22, 1913 in Gibbon to John and Genevieve (Bushard) Stadtherr.

He graduated from Gibbon High School and studied at the University of Minnesota.

He was active in the Midwest amateur baseball leagues as an outfielder.

He was an officer with the United States Army in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II.

He married Bernice Kelly in DeGraff on March 29, 1948.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a flower hybridizer and exhibited gladiolus at local, state and regional flower shows.

He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Stadtherr and Joan Bennecke, Granger, Ind.; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Gregory Bissen, Maple Grove; two grandchildren, Patrick and Katie Bissen.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Visitation: For one hour before the service, Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the church.

Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery.
