Blossoms top Triton

Blooming Prairie erupted for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 9-4 non-conference victory from Triton Friday in Dodge Center.

The Blossoms had five of their 10 hits in the sixth, scoring at will with some help from Triton’s defense. The Cobras had four errors in the game, three in the inning.

Rachel Long’s two-run single highlighted BP’s big inning. Long and Kristin Lueth each drove in two runs and scored twice. Long, Maggie Romeo and Amber Vogt each went 2-4 batting, while Lueth, Amanda Herdina and Rachel Stenzel had one hit apiece.

Andrea Miller picked up her second pitching victory of the season, scattering eight hits and four walks over the complete-game win. She struck out five and allowed two earned runs to go to 2-0.

Blooming Prairie, now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Gopher Conference action, hosts Alden-Conger for a league game today at 4:30 p.m.

L/P falls to Lanesboro

Brad Dybing’s three-over par round of 38 earned meet medalist honors as host Lanesboro beat Lyle/Pacelli 169-176 in a Southeast Conference dual Friday.

Tom Kluczny led L/P for the second time in as many meets this season, scoring a 41. Tyler Fett shot 44 and Kyle Fett added a 45, with Jamie Knutson contributing the final varsity score with a 46.

Lanesboro’s Cody Hungerhold tied Kluczny for runner-up medalist honors with a 41, John Johnson shot 43 and Cody Johnson added a 47.

Lyle/Pacelli now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in SEC action, hosts Glenville-Emmons today at Ramsey Golf Course at 4:30 p.m.
