Deer break window at Riverland, fall through East Side Lake
A deer apparently ran through a glass window at River land Community College Friday and ran through hallways before breaking through an other window and exiting.
Austin Police Department officers were called to the scene and found broken glass and a trail of blood but the deer had exited.
Also last Friday, another deer fell through the thin ice on East Side Lake.
The panicked deer attempted to extricate itself from the water, but kept breaking though ice.
Finally, the deer gained a foot-hold on ice and scampered from the water to the shoreline and into a northeast Austin neighborhood.
The incident prompted Austin police and fire officers at the scene to caution everyone about the dangers of thin ice during the spring thaw.
