BLOOMING PRAIRIE-It will be a homecoming for Col. Roger Ingvaldson Wednesday.
The former U.S. Air Force pilot was shot down over Vietnam and held as a prisoner of war until his release.
A 1946 graduated of Blooming Prairie High School, Ingvaldson is returning for his graduating class’ 55 reunion and Wednesday’s 2:30 p.m. Old Fashioned 4th parade sponsored by the Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
Gene Trom of Blooming Prairie has organized a fly-over by an F-16 fighter aircraft from the Minnesota Air National Guard in honor of Ingvaldson, during Wednesday’s parade.
All-day-long Wednesday, there will be food, fun and music at Victory Field, City Park and other sites in the community.
Then, a fireworks display will explode over Victory Field, beginning 10 p.m. Independence Day.
