Coach Gabby Weiss was extremely pleased with how his boys performed.

"We hit the ball well today," Weiss said. "Our sticks got going and the kids were having more fun today. We weren’t hitting well the first two days of the tournament. It was just one of those days the sticks weren’t going the first two days of the tournament. I give the team credit after losing four in row and then coming back today."

The pitcher in the first game on Sunday was MacEagon Voyce, and Danny Kirby threw in game two.

"Those two pitched well," Weiss said.

Leading hitters for the day were Jason Haas, Cody Kirkpatrick and Sam Stier. Kirby had five RBIs.

In the first game, the Austin All-Stars scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to beat the Port Arthur Continentals, 8-5. The second game was over in three innings as the Austin All-Stars bested Current River, Canada, 17-2.

"We got a lot of runs across – we had eight runs in the first inning," Weiss said. "That was great for us because they beat us in the first game of the tournament when we went into extra innings. We came back and broke their hearts."

Cody Kirkpatrick’s home run highlighted the win for Austin, who earned fifth in the consolation bracket and 13th overall with the win.
