An Austin man faces charges, following a domestic abuse incident that became violent Saturday morning.

An Austin man faces charges, following a domestic abuse incident that became violent Saturday morning.
According to an Austin Police Department report, an Austin couple shared an apartment at the Twin Towers apartment complex in downtown.
The couple told police they had been drinking overnight and the woman said she wanted to move out of the apartment she shared with the man.
Then, the man allegedly threatened the woman, who is wheelchair-bound with a knife. when she attempted to call 9-1-1 for help. He put the knife down, she made the call and before officers arrived the woman allegedly picked up the knife and stabbed the man in the left shoulder.
When officers arrived, they found the man with a blood wound and he was taken to Austin Medical Center for treatment. Then, he was jailed on felony domestic abuse violence and interfering with a 9-1-1- call.
She was uninjured.
Police disarm man of knife
Austin police officers were greeted by a man wielding a knife when they responded to a call at Key Apartments Friday afternoon.
According to an Austin Police Department report, a man in Key Apartments reported he was threatened repeatedly over the last several days by another man, who recently moved to the Key Apartments in Austin from Mankato.
The dispute was over a mutual female acquaintance.
On Friday, the first man was greeted in the Key Apartments’ parking lot by the second man, carrying a knife, who again threatened to kill him.
The first man reported the incident to the apartment manager, who told him to report it to police, which he did.
When two police officers went to the apartment, the door was opened by a man wielding a knife.
Officers drew their weapons, forced the man to the floor and disarmed of a 7-inch bladed knife.
On the way from his apartment he resisted officers and a chemical spray was used to bring the suspect into submission. No officer was hurt in the struggle.
The man with the knife was jailed and faces three counts of second-degree assault and one count of third degree assault.
Restaurant closed
Austin police officers were forced to order an apparent in-home restaurant closed over the weekend.
Officers were called to an apartment at 408 Fifth Place NW Friday. When they arrived, they discovered a cardboard sign on the sidewalk announcing a restaurant inside.
When the officers entered the apartment they discovered three tables in a large living room will silverware, china and napkins as well as candles.
The apartment dwellers were ordered to cease and desist their in-home restaurant and the matter referred to the city of Austin planning and zoning department.
