The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is coming to Austin on July 7.
The circus will be at the Mower County Fairgrounds for two shows at 2 and 4:30 p.m.
Featured on National Geographic’s "Explorer" television series, "Entertainment Tonight" and in the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune, the one-ring circus provides 90 minutes of family entertainment at each performance.
The circus includes elephants, clowns, aerialists and all of the other magic of a circus beneath the "Big Top."
The public is invited to see the tent-raising, beginning at 9 a.m. July 7 and to remain for a free endangered species show at 10 a.m.
The 45-minute endangered species show will feature the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus’ African elephants, Barbara and Connie.
Also, staff will discuss the disappearance of wild habitat that has made animals, such as African Elephants, an "over-populated" endangered species.
In addition, the circus staff will discuss animal hygiene, grooming and veterinary needs.
