The Southland-Grand Meadow boys’ golf team placed four players on the All-Southeast Conference West Division team Friday and Saturday.

The Southland-Grand Meadow boys’ golf team placed four players on the All-Southeast Conference West Division team Friday and Saturday.

The boys’ All-Conference Tournament began with 18 holes on Friday at Cedar River Country Club in Adams, and moved to Lanesboro for 18 more on Saturday.

S-GM’s Jeff Thalberg won the tournament by 11 strokes, shooting 75-78–153 to pace the All-Conference team of 11 players. Teammate Pat Schneider was the runner-up, shooting 81-83–164. Gary Kiefer placed eighth with an 87-92–179, and Caleb Stroupe was ninth with 94-88–182. Adam Huntley earned honorable mention status for qualifying for the All-Conference tournament.

Lyle/Pacelli’s Jamie Knudtson shot 84-90–174 to tie for sixth place and earn All-Conference honors, but teammate Brian Anderson lost in a playoff for the 11th and final spot.

LeRoy-Ostrander’s Erin Dohlman won the girls’ tournament, which finished Saturday at the Harmony Golf Club. Friday’s round of 18 also was played at Cedar River. Dohlman shot 93-80–173 to win by five strokes.

Caledonia-Spring Grove’s Kelly Sherburn was runner-up with a 100-78–178.

Lyle/Pacelli’s Sammi Jones took fifth and a spot on the 15-member All-Conference team, shooting 97-85–182.

Lindsay Viker earned honorable mention for Southland-Grand Meadow.

All three Mower County teams will be in attendance at today’s Class A Subsection 2A Tournament at Ramsey Golf Course in Austin.
