Austin police are seeking two gunmen who allegedly robbed a man of a ring early Sunday.

One of the gunmen has been implicated in two other incidents where a handgun allegedly was used.

A 35-year-old Austin resident identified a suspect as the man who robbed him of a Rolex silver and gold ring.

A 25-year-old woman and her two children, ages 7 and 4, also picked out the suspect’s picture from a photo lineup and identified him as one of the men brandishing a small handgun.

The robbery took place at the southwest Austin residence at 2:31 a.m. Sunday.

The robbery culminated a wild evening, that began with a domestic dispute in a parking lot at Bremerton Apartments and also included a visit to Western Manor Apartments and a residence where another suspect in the armed robbery was taken into custody.

Neither victims or the woman’s children reported any injuries, according to Austin Police Department reports of the incident.

In one of the previous incidents involving the suspect, he allegedly brandished a handgun at a Bremerton Apartments townhouse when looking for a man who allegedly owned him money.

The handgun never was found.

Car stolen from home

A 1992 red Mercury Sable was reported stolen by its owner, Florencio Sandoval, 20, of Austin.

According to an Austin Police Department report, Sandoval said the car was taken from behind his residence at 608 11th Ave. SW at 10:47 p.m. Sunday.

The four-door sedan has Minnesota license plates 345-GVM.

Chef’s knives taken

James Getchell reported to police the theft of chef’s knives.

According to an Austin Police Department report, the knives were left in a black vinyl bag in the front seat of Getchell’s vehicle.

The knives are valued at $279, according to the police report.

CDs, player stolen

Marzall Little, 32, of Minneapolis, reported the theft of a CD player and 450 CDs from a vehicle parked at Bremerton Apartments.

The thefts were discovered Sunday morning, according to an Austin Police Department report.

Little placed an estimated value of $6,000 on the missing CDs.

Mario Garcia also reported his vehicle was entered over the weekend while it was parked at Bremerton Apartments and a CD player and CDs valued at $300 taken.

Burglary tools found

Two Hayfield residents were apprehended with burglary tools early Sunday morning.

Officers on routine patrol spotted Cory Musolf, 18, and Ernest Ahern, 43, running along 11th Street NE at 4:29 a.m. Sunday.

Upon further investigation, a pop machine at nearby Smitty’s Tavern was observed to have been vandalized and burglary tools and gloves were found near the scene.

The pair were taken to the Mower County Jail, pending a court appearance.

Drug charges filed

A 34-year-old woman was jailed on a felony warrant Saturday, according to an Austin Police Department report.

Kathy Winsky was a passenger in a vehicle stopped along Oakland Avenue East. A search of her purse revealed crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, police said.

Winsky is being held on charges of felony second-degree controlled substance with intent to distribute.
