State Sen. Grace Schwab is back on the job at the state Capitol.
Schwab (R-Albert Lea) was admitted to Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea last week with an inflamed colon. She was released from the hospital on Sunday after doctors determined that her illness was possibily related to food poisoning and could be treated with antibiotics.
The senator returned to St. Paul on Wednesday.
"I want to thank everyone who called, wrote or sent e-mails wishing me well," Schwab said. "Your prayers meant the world to my family and me.
"I’m glad to be able to be able to get back to work at the Capitol. There’s a lot of important items on the agenda and I want to be here every possible moment representing the people of Mower and Freeborn counties."
On her first day back, Schwab attended the Senate Education Committee meeting at which she presented a bill on equity in K-12 education funding.
