Come fall 2002, students at Grand Meadow will enter the doors of a new and innovative institution of learning.
We join Lt. Gov. Mae Schunk in applauding the efforts of the Grand Meadow School District and the community that supports it.
The five-pod concrete monolithic domed structure, slated to be built on Highway 16, is expected to be highly energy efficient. It will be like no other school in the state.
Schunk and other legislators recognized the worthiness of the project with a $3 million grant. Voters also see the value and proved it with an $8 million referendum.
Schunk saw "good and great things happening in this community."
Indeed, Grand Meadow will have much to boast – not only an innovative school, but a forward-thinking and supportive community as well.
