Former Mower County employee David Ross Eppler, 27, will be charged with theft of government property.
Eppler was employed as a computer expert for the county for a little over a year. During his employment, Eppler allegedly exchanged several pieces of county computer equipment for less expensive equipment.
After he left his employment with the county, other employees in the computer department found that the serial numbers and equipment did not match what was listed in Eppler’s paperwork.
After executing a search warrant on his residence in Wisconsin, county authorities found approximately a few hundred dollars of the $7,000 in equipment missing from the county.
Charges are pending with the county attorney’s office.
