Lyle-Pacelli has placed five girls on the all-Southeast Conference volleyball team for the 2000 season.

Senior Joni Sheedy; and juniors Laura Nelson, Cassie Fuller and Amy Bickler were named to the first team, while senior hitter Kassie Baldner was named honorable mention.

Nelson was also voted to the honorable mention All-State team. She is one of just 18 players chosen to the team from a field of approximately 1,500 girls in Minnesota Class A volleyball.

"That’s a tremendous honor for Laura," L/P co-coach Norm Blaser said.

The honors keep piling up for the junior hitter, who was also selected recently by USA Volleyball to participate on a team of high school juniors at an international tournament in Hawaii next summer.

Nelson was the featured hitter on a talented L/P team that finished 27-4 and won the first ever subsection championship for either Lyle or Pacelli.
