Majesty will bring a creative presentation telling the "old, old story of Jesus and his love" through biblical word and song to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Austin on Sunday.
The trio will perform for the public at both the 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship services.
Majesty previously has performed in Austin at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church.
The group includes soloist Charles Johnson, keyboardist Bob Ravenscroft and the Rev. Jack Van Ens, a storyteller.
"I’m pleased Majesty will be at Our Savior’s on Sunday," said the Rev. Glennys Knutson, retired pastor at Our Savior’s. "They are versatile and creative and carry a powerful message, telling the old, old story of God’s love, in a new and imaginative way."
"Old and young alike will be in awe as they become part of the unique worship experience, which they will not soon forget," Knutson said. "Majesty is one of the most talented groups I have heard. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend them."
The Rev. Don Deines, senior pastor at Our Savior’s church, said: "Majesty is inspired by the triune God and share the story of salvation through the biblical word and son."
"Reflecting worship shaped by awe and reverence, Majesty through jazz, operatic gifts and drama, lifts up an awareness of God’s holiness, nourishes the mind with Christ’s truth and opens the heart to the Spirit’s leading by telling the ‘old, old story of Jesus and his love’ through gospel hymns and classical songs of faith," Deines said.
Dr. John Toso of Austin also is a fan.
"The Majesty concert is truly inspired of God and presents afresh the good news of Jesus through narrative drama and songs of faith.
"Don’t look upon this one as a performance, but expect an experience in which God’s wishes to reveal his character," Toso said in a review.
A freewill offering will be taken at both services Sunday morning as worshipers leave the sanctuary.
After both services, the members of Majesty will meet worshipers at the coffee hours in the church fellowship hall.
