Jessica Knickerbocker, 20, of Austin, and Vivian E. Johnson, 64, of Austin, were involved in an intersection collision Thursday.
The cars collided at the intersection of East Oakland Avenue and 4th Street.
Knickerbocker was driving a delivery van south on 4th Street and Johnson’s vehicle was going west on East Oakland Avenue.
The mishap occurred at 6:13 p.m. Thursday, according to an Austin Police Department report.
Both drivers and a passenger in the Johnson vehicle, Alicha Kitzman, 15, Elgin, complained of injuries and were taken to Austin Medical Center by a Gold Cross Ambulance Service crew.
Investigate assault
Thomas Jarvis was walking in the 800 block of 6th Avenue Southeast Thursday, when he claims he was attacked by a group of men.
According to an Austin Police Department report, Jarvis was found sitting on a porch at 803 6th Ave. SE, bleeding from his wounds. Because the investigating officer noticed Jarvis was obviously intoxicated, the victim’s story lacked details.
The victim refused medical treatment and remains under investigation.
Grain dumped in field
ELKTON – Bryant Hokeness reports grain dumped in a farm field near his Marshall Township farm residence.
According to a Mower County Sheriff’s Department report, Hokeness discovered grain dumped from two trailers parked in a corn field.
His loss is estimated at over 400 bushels of corn.
Semi stolen
GRAND MEADOW – A driver for Valley Transportation Service at Grand Meadow is suspected of stealing a $100,000 semi tractor-trailer rig.
Pat Steinkamp of Valley Transportation Service reported a driver, Mark Markham of Oklahome City, Okla. apparently abandoned the rig in Arizona, according to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department report.
The driver was enroute to Howe, Texas and last communicated with the Grand Meadow trucking firm Monday.
The rig was to be returned to Elk Run Heights, Iowa, a Waterloo suburb and is now reported as missing and presumed stolen.
