GRAND MEADOW – Woody’s Bar was burglarized overnight Wednesday and $1,100 in cash is missing.

According to a Mower County Sheriff’s Department report, no signs of forced entry were found, but other evidence discovered at the scene is being processed, so investigators have leads.

In addition to the cash, a quantity of cigarettes and candy bars were also stolen.

The Grand Meadow Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department are jointly investigating the break-in.

Citations issued

Two male juveniles, ages 14 and 15, face multiple charges after being caught riding ATV machines illegally.

The youths were observed by residents along Mower County No. 46 east of the Austin Country Club near 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

When Mower County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the citizens’ complaints, they observed the boys riding their ATV machines along the two-lane roadway.

Among the charges filed against them were failure to wear helmets, driving on the roadway and driving unregistered vehicles.
