ROSE CREEK – One man was killed in a head-on collision early today west of Rose Creek.

The identity of the fatality was not released by late this morning.

According to Mower County Sheriff Barry J. Simonson, the accident occurred at 7:15 a.m. on the curves west of Rose Creek on Mower County No. 4.

Another victim in the other vehicle suffered serious injuries and was airlifted by the Mayo One helicopter to a Rochester hospital.

The vehicles involved were a pickup truck and a passenger car. No other details were available.

The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Mower County Sheriff’s Department in the accident investigation.
