Ventura on a veto roll

Gov. Jesse Ventura has his veto pen ready – and it’s fairly nice to see it, not because there is always agreement that his veto is the right move, but because his veto thus far has fallen exactly where it should according to the philosophy he professed in his campaign.
Ventura says government should stay out of the private lives of the people, and he vetoed the abortion bill which was presented to him. This makes perfect sense, even if the bill was one written in moderation, because he stayed true to his philosophy.
He also vetoed the Keep Right bill – one which designated the left lane on highways for passing. This bill was also not an extremist position on left-lane-loonies, it just sought to get people to move back into the right lane and leave the left clear for passing.
He turned this bill away, calling it silly and inflexible. While it was not all that rigid in construction, it was insulting to the common sense of the average driver, who does move into the right lane, or keeps to such a clip in the left lane as to nearly always be passing others.
Interesting to see a man who sticks to what he says.
