Dean Aarsvold, 38 of 1812 18th St. SE, was arrested Tuesday by an Austin Police Department officer on routine patrol.

According to the officer’s report, Aarsvold, whom he recognized, was wanted on a Freeborn County warrant and seen standing in a driveway along 10th Street NE near 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Aarsvold was questioned and searched by the officer after being advised of his rights. A small amount of methamphetamine was found on his person and seized by the officer.

Also seized was a tin box an eyewitness at the scene said belonged to Aarsvold and inside it was found more methamphetamine.

The total amount of methamphetamine seized was estimated at four grams and Aarsvold was taken to the Mower County Jail.

He will be charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, according to the police report.
