Katelyn Joseph puts the finishing touches on her "Cat in the Hat" Thursday morning at Banfield Elementary School. The kindergartners at Banfield made "Cats in the Hat" in honor of Dr. Suess’ 96th birthday as part of "Read Across America." Carol Gilbertson, a third-grade teacher at Banfield, said many activities have been carried out this year in an attempt to have parents and children read together.
