Peter Allas, 85
Peter Henry Allas, 85, of Austin died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at the Austin Medical Center.
Peter was born Feb. 23, 1914 in Topeka, Kan. to Andrew and Susan (Burkhardt) Allas. They moved to Austin at a young age. He married Gladys Boysen on Feb. 14, 1935 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Parsonage. He served in the 135th Infantry, Co. H., Red Bull Div. out of Austin during World War II. He was a life member of Olaf B. Damm Post No. 1216 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Austin Post No. 91 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Arnold Brandt Chapter No. 27 and a 50 year member of the Austin Eagles Arie No. 703. He worked for Crane Lumber, Murphy Oil and Wehner Construction Company. He was a stock car driver, an avid fisherman, hunter, bowler, golfer and a golden gloves boxer.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Allas, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law Gloria and Dale Njos, Waltham, Barbara Hofius, Owatonna, Sandra and John Nelson, Austin, Susan and Donald Madison, Austin, Debra and Robert Watkins, Austin; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Adam and Marion Allas, Lansing; Sylvester Allas, Austin; sisters and brother-in-law Florentina an John Frien, Austin; Rose Marie Allas, Cedar Falls, Iowa; sisters-in-law Luella Allas, Austin, Margarite Kuhn, Austin.
He was preceded in death by hi parents, step mother Elizabeth Kuhn Allas, three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and two sons-in-law.

Honorary casket bearers Janelle Potter, Janice Hofius, Eric Condit, Matt Watkins, Peter Watkins and David Madison.

· Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. James I. Mikkelson officiating.
· Interment: Oakwood Cemetery with Olaf B. Damm Post No, 1216 VFW and Austin Post No. 91 American Legion in charge of military rites.
· Visitation: Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5-7 p.m. Friday and at the church for one hour before the service on Saturday.
Cloyce Gray, 86
Cloyce Combs Gray, 86, of Hayfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minn.
He was born June 20, 1913 in Casselton, N.D. to Harry and Mamie Gladys (Combs) Gray. He married Margaret Catherine Kiesling April 20, 1913 in Creston, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1988.
Cloyce graduated from Osceola High School in 1931, with a teaching certificate and taught in rural schools for two years. He then attended Iowa Sate University and graduated in 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant (Junior Grade) from Jan. 15, 1944 to Feb. 19, 1946 and worked with John Deere Company before and after he was in the Navy. In 1947, he taught Veterans Ag in Winnebago, Minn. In 1954 he was farming near Hayfield and in 1965 he became a rural mail carrier for Hayfield and retired in 1978.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield and a member of the American Legion, the Lions and the Masonic Lodge in Blooming Prairie.
He is survived by his daughter Janice M. Cosby, Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; one daughter Catherine Ann Yngsdal; two grandsons; two brothers, Claire Gray and Stanley Gray.
· Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield with the Rev. Charles Talcott officiating.
· Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Hayfield with military rites provided by the Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post No. 330
· Visitation: Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000 at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Ressa Huisinga, 91
Ressa M. (Luthe) Huisinga, 91, a resident of St. Mark’s died Thursday evening Jan. 6, 2000.
Services are pending and will be announced later by Worlein Funeral Home.
Hilda Olson, 93
Hilda L. Olson, 93, Adams, died this morning at the Adams Health Care Center.
Arrangements are pending with the Adams Funeral Home and will be announced later.
Leona Ingvalson, 82
Leona Ingvalson, 82, Blooming Prairie died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie.
Services are pending with Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.
John Loock, 72
John Herman Loock, 72, Austin, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 at his home.
He was born April 10, 1927 in Lindorf, Germany, to Claus and Anna (Meyer) Loock. John came to the United States when he was one year old and resided in Henning, Minn. There he graduated from high school in 1945 and then enlisted in the United States Army. After the army he went to college at Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Neb. and graduated in 1952. He taught school at St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Arlington Heights, Ill. from 1952-1955 and at Luther South High School in Chicago, Ill. from 1956-1958. On Sept. 6, 1959 he married Miriam A. Klein in Chicago, Ill. After their marriage they moved to Austin where he worked for Swan Millwork from 1958-1960. He then was in partnership with Hagstrom and Loock from 1960-1970, and then started his own business of Loock Construction from 1970-1997. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin and was involved in many church activities. He enjoyed to hunt and fist and work in his garden.
He is survived by his wife Miriam Loock, Austin; daughters Sandra Loock, Holmen, Wis., Pam Loock, Des Moines, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law David and Sheri Loock, Creve Coeur, Mo.; two grandchildren; aunts Tena Stueve and Tina Meyer, both of Henning, Minn.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Joan Loock in 1960, and a brother Henry Loock.
Casket bearers will be Warren Rector, James Tweet, Gerhardt Stueve, David Hagstrom, David Jackson, John Magnuson.
· Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Robert Stohlmann officiating. Organist will be Robert Goetz
· Interment: Grandview Cemetery with military rites provided by Olaf B. Damm VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
· Visitation: Friends may call at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service at the church.

Myrtle Perry, 88
Myrtle L. Perry, 88, of Austin, died yesterday, Jan. 6, 1999 at St. Marks Lutheran Home.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Robert Rice, Austin; sons and daughters-in-law Dale and Shirley Rosenthal, Austin, Jon and Jean Rosenthal, Austin, Jerry and Rhonda Rosenthal, Freemont, Neb.; 10 grand children; many great-grandchildren; step sons and step daughter-in-law John Perry, Austin, Duane and Doo Perry, Lansing; many step grand children and step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Mrs. Margaret Carle, Austin; two special friends Bill Finkelson, Austin and Gladys O’Shaughnessy, Austin; many nieces, nephews, step nieces and nephews.
· Service: 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000 at St. Marks Lutheran Home Chapel with the Rev. James I. Mikkelson and Paster Greg Mannel officiating.
· Interment: Oakwood Cemetery
· Visitation: Friends may call at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and one hour before the service at St. Marks Chapel.
Margaret Schaefer, 100
Margaret A. Schaefer, 100, of Adams, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 5, 2000 at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Patrick and Gloria Fitzgerald, Albert Lea, Allan and Betty Schaefer, Sun Lakes, Ariz., Thomas and Judy Schaefer, Owatonna, Gerald and Susan Schaefer, Owatonna; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, one brother and one sister.
· Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000 at Sacred heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Martin Schaefer and the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Helen King
· Interment: Sacred heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams.
· Visitation: There will be a 4 p.m. Rosary Service and a 7 p.m. Prayer Service on Friday at the Adams Funeral Home, Adams, Minn., where friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday, and at the church for one hour before the service on Saturday.
