Tammy Sue Guttu, 811 15th Street NE, reported her home was forcibly entered New Year’s Eve and $600 worth of coins taken.
According to an Austin Police Department report, Guttu was gone from her home Friday and when she returned she discovered the main floor rooms ransack.
A metal can and a glass mug full of coins were taken from their locations on an entertainment center.
Also, Guttu reported an estimated $300 damages to the residence, including a rear door which was kicked in to gain entrance.
Argument, assault
Michelle Marie Ahles, 37, 511 5th Avenue NW, faces charges of second degree assault and a gross misdemeanor charge for obstructing emergency 911 calls.
According to an Austin Police Department report, when officers traced two E911 hangup calls to the Fifth Avenue NW address and went there at 4:11 a.m. Saturday, they discovered Ahles and her boyfriend, Randall Peterson arguing.
Peterson was observed to have a cut on his nose from a knife.
Both parties gave conflicting stores, according to the police report, but Ahles was taken into custody to be charged in district court today.
Peterson’s cut did not require medical attention.
Business burglarized
CT Farm and Country was burglarized and a safe stolen.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the business along 10th Drive Southeast was entered through a rear emergency door sometime over night Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999.
A safe was removed from the office area of the business. The safe contained an estimated $1,100 in cash.
Investigators found the southwest emergency door to the business with its opening-bar taped in the open position and, therefore, unable to be locked.
Also, the alarm system was found to be disabled.
The burglary and safe robbery remain under investigation.
Juveniles assaulted
Two juveniles reported being assaulted and robbed early Saturday.
According to an Austin Police Department, the male juveniles, ages 13 and 14 of Austin, told investigators, they had walked to the Kwik Trip convenience store at the intersection of West Oakland Avenue and 12th Street near 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
On their way home from the store, individuals in a white car stopped and asked if they wanted to buy drugs. The juveniles declined and continued walking.
The juveniles said they were stopped two more times by the white car’s passengers and the last time, individuals from the car accosted them.
No injuries were reported to the victims, but a knife and a wallet containing an estimated $25 to $30 was taken.
The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
Toy, quarters taken
Bustad Crane Service was entered sometime New Year’s Even, according to a Mower County Sheriff’s Department report.
The business located along U.S. Highway 218 North was entered by kicking in a door.
Taken in the burglary was an LP 200 toy model backhoe and a glass containing quarters.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the burglary remains under investigation.
