When temperatures get chilly, Ron Marsden comes prepared. Even his eyes are protected as Marsden takes a well-insulated walk along Fourth Avenue NE Monday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to remain cold for the next few days with a low at 10 to 15 below tonight and a high on Wednesday reaching only 5 above. The awakening of bitter cold landed in Minnesota just in time for the official start of winter on Wednesday, when the northern hemisphere experiences its shortest day. For wary Minnesotans wondering when the other boot would drop, Monday was the unofficial end of another clement fall as temperatures and wind-chill figures in many parts of the state fell below zero for the first time this season.
