Larry J. Pfeil replaced Kenneth Regner at Hormel Foods Corp.
Now, Pfeil is replacing Regner at the Austin Utilities Board of Commissioners.
Pfeil was Mayor Bonnie Rietz’s choice to be appointed to the utilities board from four candidates for the position.
When Regner retired from his Hormel Foods post as vice president-engineer, he was replaced by Pfeil.
Rietz made the announcement at Monday night’s regular meeting of the Austin City Council, saying she was "very pleased" to appoint Pfeil to the position.
The mayor said Pfeil’s technical skills would be an asset to his position on the utilities board.
Gloria Nordin, Third Ward council member, made the motion to approve the appointment, and Mickey Jorgenson, First Ward council member, seconded it. The motion was unanimously approved by a 7-0 vote.
The other three candidates were: Gloria Ash, a work trainer at Cedar Valley Services; Shawn Leighton, advertising and marketing salesperson for the Post-Bulletin; and Curt Rude, an Austin Police Department lieutenant.
