A large amount of drugs and cash, plus guns were seized in two separate raids this week in Lyle and Austin.
The latest occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant on a residence at 103 Pine Street in Lyle.
Three adult male subjects were taken into custody without incident at the Lyle home searched.
Officers found 30 pounds of marijuana and two loaded handguns, one Tech 9 handgun, and an undetermined amount of cash.
The three subjects, all from California, have been in the Lyle and Northwood, Iowa areas only for a couple of months.
On Monday, another search warrant was executed at 4:30 p.m. at 1307 6th Ave. NE in Austin, where approximately 15 pounds of marijuana were discovered.
More arrests are forthcoming, according to authorities.
The Austin Police Department’s Special Incident Response Team was used to secure the Lyle residence and property in Wednesday’s raid.
Several weeks of investigation included teamwork from the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, Austin Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as well as the Lyle Police Department. The Southeast Narcotics Task Force also assisted in the investigation and seizures.
In all, the combined amount of marijuana seized was estimated at 45 pounds as well as more than $30,000 in cash.
More details are expected to be released by law enforcement officials at a press conference today.
