According to an Austin Police Department report, the 17-year-old female is from Pennsylvania and had been staying in a local halfway house for several weeks.

On Monday night at approximately 7:47 p.m. the female contacted authorities to report the possible sexual assault.

According to the female’s report, she visited a southwest Austin home last Friday through Sunday to drink and smoke marijuana.

At the time, she was listed as a runaway from the halfway house after missing an airplane that would have taken her back to Pennsylvania.

She told police the assault occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Nov. 26 and 2 a.m. Nov. 28.

The victim tested positive for alcohol and marijuana when taken to Austin Medical Center, where she first revealed the possible sexual assault.

The only description she was able to provide police is that her assailant may have been a Hispanic male, 5-foot-8, 170 pounds with short, curly hair.

Jail attack

A Mower County Jail prisoner Ellen Hubbard has been charged with disorderly conduct following a second attack on officers, according to a sheriff’s report.

Hubbard, 24 of Austin, allegedly threw a "tantrum" at the Austin Medical Center at approximately 5:45 p.m. Monday when she was taken by two Mower County Sheriff’s Department deputies for medical attention.

In the incident Monday, Hubbard bit the two deputies escorting her through the AMC for a hospital appointment.

She had to be restrained by the deputies using mace and was returned to her jail cell. The deputies’ injuries were not serious.

On Sunday another Mower County jailer was assaulted by Hubbard during a transfer from one cell to another.

According to Mower County Sheriff Barry Simonson, the incident occurred late Saturday when Hubbard had been observed arguing with a cell mate. The jail staff decided to transfer Hubbard to another cell and a jailer proceeded to open her cell. Hubbard fell to the jail floor, grabbed the bars to the cell and when the jailer attempted to pull her loose bit the jailer on the right forearm and scratched her left forearm in a struggle.

The jailer went to the emergency room at Austin Medical Center and was treated and released.

Hubbard was arrested Nov. 27 on a probation violation, which occurred Nov. 19, when she ignored an order to appear in court on charges of theft by check.

The prisoner now also faces fourth degree charges of assaulting a corrections officer as well as the new disorderly conduct charge.
