The Blue Devils fell by scores of 2-15, 12-15, 15-12, 0-15.

Bethany, Ridgewater, Riverland and Anoka Ramsey will represent the Minnesota Community College Conference’s South Division in the MCCC State Tournament in Mankato Oct. 29-30.

"We need to sharpen our game," Coach Helen Jahr said. "We’re going to work on our conditioning and some other things."

The Blue Devils game Ridgewater a fight until the final game, when "we just shut down," Jahr said.

Melissa Bemis led the Blue Devils with 10 kills and three blocks. Jamie Rosheim followed with seven kills and three blocks.

Jaime Mauseth finished with four blocks. Krissa Anderly and Breanna Seira each finished with four ace serves.

Riverland missed to many serves in the opening game to get any momentum. Meanwhile, Ridgewater didn’t miss a serve until the third game.

"Ridgewater played consistent ball," Jahr said.

Anoka Ramsey, beaten by Riverland last Wednesday, earned a state spot by upsetting Rochester on Monday.
