Larry Rasch reported two dogs attacked his penned sheep late Tuesday evening.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Department report, the attack occurred near 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in Section 6, Austin Township.

One sheep was killed by the dogs and others injured when they were chased by the canines.

Rasch was forced to shoot one of the dogs in the act of attacking his sheep. The other dog ran away.

Authorities identified the dead canine as belonging to Rhonda Williams of Austin, who also claimed ownership to the other dog.
