Sad but true, the emergency food shelves at the Salvation Army Austin Corps are depleted.

Many are empty.

The Salvation Army is having difficulty meeting the demands from the poor and hungry in Mower County.

Coming up are the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives for November and December, respectively.

But the need is more immediate than holiday food basket gifts.

In the land of plenty, some have plenty of nothing to eat right now.

The generosity of the people of Mower County has been proven over and over again.

Here is one more time it is being tested.

Step up to the plate and make a donation so that others don’t sit down to nearly empty dinner tables, or go off to work feeling hungry every day. It’s time to pitch in on behalf of your neighbors in this community.
