The Riverland men’s golf team posted its best finish of the year at a nine-team invitational in Hutchinson.

The Blue Devils placed second with 327 behind Bethany Lutheran, which had a 318. Minneapolis West was third at 328, followed by Central Lake (331), Fergus Falls (331), Minneapolis (340), Rochester (344) and Ridgewater (374).

Wade Kolander led the Blue Devils with a 77.

Mike Willford was second on Riverland with an 81, followed by Dustin McCabe (84), Chad Wolfe (85) and Nate King (87).

Carla Olson, a freshman from Albert Lea, shot a 118 for Riverland.

Disc golf tourney at Todd Park

Austin disc golf enthusiasts are encouraged to be at Todd Park Sept. 25 for the Mider Cup Tournament, beginning at 9 a.m.

This is a team and an individual event with four divisions: open pro, master pro, advanced and amateur. Each region (Southern Minnesota, Northern Minnesota, East Metro and West Metro) needs players in every division. The cost to enter the amateur division is $8. There will be trophies and or prizes for the top third of the players in each division. There will also be blue ribbons and small cash payouts to each member of the winning team. Upcoming Splash-N-Dash event

The fifth annual Splash-N-Dash will be held at the YMCA on Oct. 4, Oct. 6 and with the mini meet on Oct. 8.

Splash-N-Dash is for youth who can swim 25 yards and are at least 6-years-old. The event will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

YMCA coaches and the Austin high boys’ swimming and diving team will be on hand to help with the event.

The Austin YMCA Aqua Pack swim team season will begin Oct. 11, at 3:20 p.m.
