Lyle-Pacelli shows improvement
The Lyle-Pacelli tennis team is gaining experience and improving every day. That improvement was in evidence at the Wescott Field courts Thursday even though the result did not show it. Lake City won the meet 7-0.
The best result for Lyle/Pacelli was put together by the No. 2 doubles team of Laura Wiechmann and Erin Evans. After dropping the first set 6-1 they came back to win set two 6-1. In the third they fell behind 4-0. Behind some nice serving and good net play they came back to win four of the next five games to make it 5-4. Lake City, however, was able to hit some big serves that Wiechmann and Evans were unable to return and the Tigers closed out the match.
Lyle/Pacelli next hits the courts Tuesday in Winona when they meet up with Cotter.
