The Falcons finished first in every event and took the top three spots in diving en route to a 95-85 victory over the Austin Packers Thursday night in Faribault.

Although the Falcons swept the top three places in diving, two Austin divers, eighth-grader Danielle Chapek and freshman Jeri Baldus, set personal bests against the Falcons.

Chapek was fourth with a 168.7 and Baldus was sixth with a 110.3.

After setting a new personal best on Tuesday against Mankato West, seventh-grader Stacy Bjorlie shaved off 2 seconds off her best mark in the 500 freestyle. Bjorlie’s old mark was 6:13.83 and her new best is 6:11.26.

The Austin junior varsity turned the table on the Falcons, winning 96-73. Like the varsity, three Packers set new personal bests.

Brianna Walsh set a new mark in the 100 backstroke (1:18.23); Nicole Novak had her best time in the 100 butterfly (119.48); Janine Davis’ time in the 200 individual medley (3:17.18) was also her best ever in the event.

Austin swims again next Thursday at home against Owatonna.
