NFL picks: Bills still rolling
Published Wednesday, September 17, 2008
I got most of my picks right last week, so lets see if I can do it again.
Kansas City at Atlanta
Pick: FALCONS
Always go with the home team and a team with one win when to subpar squads are facing off.
Tampa Bay at Chicago
Pick: BUCS
In a matchup of quarterbacks Kyle Orton and Brian Greise it’ll come down to defense and running. I like the combo of Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn a little more than Bears rookie Matt Forte.
Miami at New England
Pick: PATS
Look for Patriots QB Matt Casell to build some confidence up against a bad Dolphins team.
Houston at Tennessee
Pick: TITANS
With or without Vince Young, the Titans have two good running backs in LenDale White and Chris Johnson and they have a fierce defense.
Detroit at San Francisco
Pick: 49ERS
Lions QB Jon Kitna had to have lost some faith in himself with those three fourth quarter interceptions against Green Bay. It’ll be enough for him to hesitate and ‘he who hesitates is lost.’
Oakland at Buffalo
Pick: BILLS
Not to jinx them, but remember I said I thought the Bills could be tough in week one and now they could be 3-0 with a home win over the Raiders.
Carolina at Minnesota
Pick: PANTHERS
If the Vikings couldn’t close out a 15 point lead against a banged up Colts team at home, I’m gonna have problems picking them to beat anyone as good as Carolina.
Cincinnati at New York Giants
Pick: GIANTS
I can’t even imagine what it’s like in that Bengals locker room right now. This team used to be good and not that many players have changed.
Arizona at Washington
Pick: REDSKINS
In an early test for the 2-0 Cards, Kurt Warner will have a classic 3 interception game.
St. Louis at Seattle
Pick: SEAHAWKS
Seattle showed signs of life in an overtime loss to the 49ers last week. They better be able to handle the Rams at home.
New Orleans at Denver
Pick: BRONCOS
The Saints offense didn’t produce without Marques Colston last week, which is bad news since he’s out for another four. The mile high air will suck the life out of Reggie Bush.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis
Pick: JAGS
If the Jags start off 0-3, they may be done in the AFC. They’ll come out with a little more intensity than the struggling Colts.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia
Pick: EAGLES
As good as the Steeler defense is, McNabb’s scrambling will keep them offbalanced.
Cleveland at Baltimore
Pick: RAVENS
With Baltimore coming off an off week, they’ll be ready to be the next team in line to make the Browns offense look bad.
Dallas at Green Bay
Pick: COWBOYS
In a classic game that the Packers would win if it were played in December. The Boys’ luck out with a September trip to Lambeau. However, if Tony Romo makes a quick visit to his hometown (in the cheese state) and parties it up, all bets are off.
New York Jets at San Diego
Pick: CHARGERS
Brett Favre doesn’t usually play well against tough defenses. And after last week’s loss to the Pats, he’ll probably try to do too much. The 0-2 Chargers are hungry and this one could be real ugly before it’s over.
Record last week: 12-3; Overall: 22-9
