NFL picks: Cowboys are in trouble

Published Tuesday, October 14, 2008

With Tony Romo out with a broken thumb for four weeks the Cowboys picked up Lions wideout Roy Williams. I’m not sure Williams will help as he has struggled with drops his entire career. But with Adam Jones also being suspended for four games the Boys suddenly don’t look so tough

Here are this week’s picks:

San Diego at Buffalo

Pick: CHARGERS

Phillip Rivers looks like he’s finally hitting his potential at QB for the Chargers and it’s only a matter of time before LDT goes off.

New Orleans at Carolina

Pick: SAINTS

The Saints should get Marques Colston back from injury and he’ll spread out the field to make room for Reggie Bush on underneath routes.

Minnesota at Chicago

Pick: BEARS

I would pick the Vikings, but I don’t expect them to get another bail-out fumble call and pass interference call like they have in their last two games.

Pittsburgh at Cinncinati

Pick: STEELERS

With a week to rest, Ben Roethlisberger should be on his ‘A’ game against the winless Bengals. Carson Palmer being out doesn’t help Cincy.

Tennesee at Kansas City

Pick: TITANS

The NFL’s only unbeaten team should stay that way as a their strong running game should control the clock against the Chiefs.

Baltimore at Miami

Pick: DOLPHINS

Both teams are hard to read right now and both are coming off a loss, so I’ll go with the home team.

San Fransisco at New York Giants

Pick: GIANTS

The Giants will take out their frustration of a loss to the Browns on the poor 49ers. Eli Manning should have a big day.

Dallas at St. Louis

Pick: COWBOYS

Last week I said I’d never pick the Rams and they won. This week I’d like to see St. Louis knock off a battered Cowboys team so I’m still picking against the Rams all year.

Detroit at Houston

Pick: LIONS

Detroit showed some life against the Vikings last week and I could be totally off. But I think the removal of Kitna put some life into the team.

Indianapolis at Green Bay

Pick: COLTS

Packers have been feeble against the deep ball and Peyton Manning specializes in such throws.

New York Jets at Oakland

Pick: JETS

The woeful Raiders shouldn’t put up a fight against a Jets team that is in the middle of a suddenly competitive AFC East.

Cleveland and Washington

Pick: BROWNS

We haven’t heard the last of the upstart Browns and the Redskins found a way to lose the Rams, which means they can’t be as good as their 4-2 record.

Seattle at Tampa Bay

Pick: BUCS

Seahawks looked awful against Green Bay without Hasselback. Tampa’s D should demolish them.

Denver at New England

Pick: BRONCOS

If Rivers lit up New England’s secondary, Cutler should put on a fireworks display.

Record last week: 8-6 ( 60-28 overall)
