NFL picks: Giants keep rolling
Published Wednesday, November 5, 2008
Here are the picks:
Denver at Cleveland
Pick: BROWNS
In Brady Quinn’s first start I expect his teammates to go all out for him in a Thursday night home game. The Broncos are down to a rookie running back and are suddenly looking quite average at 4-4.
New Orleans at Atlanta
Pick: FALCONS
With a chance to claim their stake in the NFC South, the Falcons will rise to the occasion.
Tennessee at Chicago
Pick: TITANS
This will be a battle to the end, but the Bears have had trouble on defense this year and Chris Johnson is starting to look like one of the NFL’s most explosive running backs.
Jacksonville at Detroit
Pick: LIONS
I’m going with the winless Lions. They may start Daunte Culpepper at QB and that may not be a bad thing.
Seattle at Miami
Pick: DOLPHINS
This is not the best goodbye season for Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren.
Green Bay at Minnesota
Pick: PACKERS
Packers defense is near full strength and they gave the undefeated Titans their closest contest of the season last week.
Buffalo at New England
Pick: PATRIOTS
Bills are looking average as of late and New England needs this one.
St. Louis at N.Y. Jets
Pick: JETS
Can’t pick a dome team on the road in November, especially when that team is 2-6.
Baltimore at Houston
Pick: TEXANS
Houston is 3-1 at home and should take advantage of a banged up Baltimore defense.
Carolina at Oakland
Pick: PANTHERS
The Raiders fell behind 24-0 in the first half week after mustering negative yards in the first two quarters. That’s not a commitment to excellence, it’s a terrible team.
Indianopolis at Pittsbugh
Pick: COLTS
The Steelers have passed a lot of tests so far, but I see the Colts turning it on for the homestretch.
Kansas City at San Diego
Pick: CHARGERS
One win Chiefs are not a bye week, but the Chargers should handle them in San Diego.
N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia
Pick: GIANTS
The Super Bowl champs are rolling and the Eagles don’t have enough firepower to keep up.
San Francisco at Arizona
Pick: CARDINALS
Arizona should basically clinch the NFC West with this one.
Record last week: 9-5 (Overall: 81-59)
