Why would Mrs.Green think the community wants her as board chair again? She swept corruption under the carpet and turned a blind eye to personnel atrocities for 4 years culminating in the drama and antics of last year's election/complaint circus. What don't you understand about "Austin wants to move forward",Mrs.Green?? Mr.Fox has lead the charge to calm the storm and procure a Supt.of integrity whom administrators, parents and the community will embrace and support. We have great things happening in this district. We are concentrating on our bright future, not reliving nightmares from the rear view mirror. Fox Rocks!!! GO Packers!!

So.....where are we with some policy to incorporate regular evaluations of central office staff? Dick Lees is really onto a novel idea that is necessary to ensure accountability by these individuals. I'd like to see something in place to guarantee that we WILL continue to see positive changes in our administrators. The supt's departure was monumental, but the others need to be kept in check too, and made accountable for their actions. We need policy to go over their job performances on a regularly scheduled basis. Is that too much to ask for employees who earn over $60,000 per year???

This whole project needs to be presented honestly and voted on by the public. It appears we are going to be erecting some Taj Mahal type facility at an astronomical price and coming out nowhere ahead in our prisoner capacity or our public safety. And this makes sense??? What a joke!! Think of the true needs in this community and start to address them. Put the personal biases and BS aside. This isn'a monopoly game or some reality TV show. We are real people in a modest, blue collar community. This is not the best spending of our money, but a complete waste and negligence on the part of public officials. We deserve better!
On What do you think about the jail and justice center project?

Free at last!! Free at last!!! We got a sweet deal not having to pay Raskin any money to leave here and only paying a fair price for an experienced, proven, quality superintendent for a year. I did the math!!

I agree with your assessment that Raskin and her supporters viewed her as the Savior of the community, but that is what dragged them down until the end. THERE IS NO ONE SAVIOR OF THE COMMUNITY. To think that way is narrow minded and absurd. There are a lot of smart, capable citizens in this community, and we will work together to keep the school district moving in the right direction. The new, interim supt(if contract goes through) needs to do exactly what he said he should do...help and support capable, competent people succeed. Raskin operated under the false pretense that she was the only smart, capable, competent person around. All had to follow her commands and not have an independent thought or challenging idea. The supt job isn't about flexing your powerful muscles as much as it's about empowering the educators to do what they do to the best of their ability to achieve student learning goals. I don't know if I'd label them saviors of the community, but I do have a lot of respect and admiration for the four board members who stood up to Raskin, tried to make her accountable for her actions, and made good on their campaign promises to a desperate community looking for change. Board members shouldn't have to micromanage all personnel decisions, but in response to the public outcry of the last few years, these people did some good investigating at all levels to get to the bottom of lots of rumors. Many terrible stories proved to be true. They weren't stories of inadequate, subpar teachers being let go like Raskin and co would like us to believe. They were stories of lies, vindictive personnel changes, fabrications of inadequacies and nothing short of pure evil being done to good, honest, hard working, competent educators. Who suffered in all this??? STUDENTS suffered....But Raskin was 'all about the kids' wasn't she? There are lots of saviors in this community and many have been at work already to rebuild the harmony of this school district. We will survive and we will be stronger without Candy, Candace, Doctor Raskin. Wonder what she'll change her name to as a professor???Your highness?

Couldn't the district face legal litigation from her unfounded public accusations against Rude???? You talk about megalomaniacs, narcissistic people. How can you not include her in there?? Amazing...how is she going to continue to feed her power hungry personality as a college professor?? I pity the students as they ask intuitive, challenging questions of her. Watch out!

Resignation???? Likely story. How beautiful that he had the guts to do a Q and A in the Post Bulletin and state that he hopes in the future, the monies earmarked for the ALC will stay there. This is another highly regarded, results oriented individual who challenged Raskin on very valid issues and BOOM down came the ax. Yes, here's another individual who "resigned" but now will commute more or less to Worthington, and have his two daughters still at Austin High School. Hmmmmm....makes you say Hmmmmmm Thanks to the new board members, people will now have to start answering the questions that Curt Rude and others ask them. No more bobble heads need apply.

Well.....the one good thing about the floods...it distracted the publicity Raskin tried to get against Rude. Her BS didn't make the front page like it normally would have. Let's hope when Curt has his day against her it makes the headlines!!!! Adios, Doctor Dictator Raskin

All my information claims that, yes, she is still getting marching orders from Raskin, and keeps going back for more because it's the only way she can get her ego re-inflated.
