LETTER: Ruling is wrong
Published Saturday, January 30, 2010
Corporations are not people and should not be allowed to use their massive funds for the outright "purchase" of politicians and their votes. That is what this ruling amounts to, and we must impeach and remove from office the five justices whose votes undermine American democracy.

But Unions can charge their members fees and endorse and fund candidates. Then it is only fair that corporations have teh same access.

That's Democracy to Impeach someone you don't agree with. Then let's impeach Obama, Pelosi, and Harry for trying to cram Trillions of Dollars of debt down our throat.

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign . . . until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed." Lincoln

Congress was already corrupt before this decision. It will only get worse now. Franken was elected because he attracted so much money from outside the state. So now we are represented by a new yorker who hasn't lived in Minnesota for 30 years. We need laws to prevent money from coming from sources outside the area where the voters are represented.
