Rebels konck off St. Charles

The Southland boys basketball team held the lead throughout the entire second half in a 65-57 win at St. Charles (7-11 overall) Friday.
Alan May scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Rebels (11-8 overall), who had their lead cut to four late in the game, but they knocked down thier free throws to clinch it.
“It was a well played game and one of the most physical games we’ve played in,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said. “We played extremely well on defense.”
Southland scoring: Alan May, 16; Chris May, 14; Nick Schmitz, 11; Clint Bergene, 10; Mike Goergen, 7; Zach Heimer, 5; Mitch Nagele, 2; free throws: 68 percent (23-for-34)
